This is a painting of an anchor with a striped background. I added a striped purple background and a Bible verse. I created it with paint and markers. First I painted the background, then I drew the anchor. After I had the outline, I painted it and added the scripture. An important element to this piece is the bright background and the different lines are a noticeable art principle. I created this piece because I really liked how it tied a modern trend with a meaningful Bible verse.Creating this piece has helped me to better understand how to mix paint to get the ideal color and the best way to paint. I am happy with how it turned out, however, I wish that the paint lines were more even.
My artwork has a piece of repoussed metal, as the center, with a colorful, patterned background. I created this piece with Prismacolors, a piece of tin, and silver Sharpies. I first used repousse and chasing to give texture and design to the center, then I covered it in ink to give it an antique look. Next, I expanded the design onto my background using the Prismacolors. The most noticeable element of art, in this piece, is texture. There is also noticeable lines in my art. I decided to create this piece so I could learn more about the techniques of repousse and chasing. I like how my art turned out. I now know what repousse and chasing are, and how to add them to art.
